Group Behavior Manual For Members of TV Dance Group in Second Life

  1. The Spirit of the Group

Every group begins because someone gives first.

Someone creates the space.
Someone invites.
Someone shares energy without asking for anything back.

That is how movement begins.

Our dance group exists because we all contribute something, time, emotion, presence, creativity.

The group is not just individuals standing together.
The group becomes its own energy.

When we respect it, it gives back.

  1. What the Group Is – and What It Is Not

The group is:

A place to belong
A place to express joy
A place to feel supported
A place to grow
A place to shine

The group is NOT:
A replacement for your real-life partner
A forced family
A romantic obligation
A competition for attention
You can enjoy connection in the group and still love your real-life partner.
After the music stops, everyone returns to their real lives and that is healthy.

  1. Cultural Differences Matter

We come from different countries, cultures, and backgrounds.
This means:
Silence can mean respect in one culture.
Silence can feel like coldness in another culture.
Direct words can feel honest to some.
The same words can feel rude to others.

Before reacting, pause.

Ask yourself:
“Is this behavior personal or just cultural?”
Assume good intention first.

  1. Technical Differences (PC and Graphics)

Not everyone experiences the game the same way.

Some members have powerful computers and see the full show.
Some have weaker PCs and can only see nearby friends.
Some experience lag or slow loading.
Some cannot use heavy animations or effects.

If someone seems distant or unresponsive, it may be technical – not emotional.
Be patient.

  1. Different Reasons for Being in Second Life

Not everyone logs in for the same reason.

Some come for:
Social connection
Validation
Creative expression

Intimacy
Escape from stress
Art and dance
Friendship

No motivation is “better” than another.

But it helps to understand that we are not all looking for the same thing.
Misunderstandings often come from different expectations.

  1. Personal Education and Life Vision

Each person brings:
Their upbringing (“the 7 years from home”)
Their personal values
Their emotional maturity
Their life philosophy
Their relationship experience

You cannot expect everyone to react like you.

Some are expressive.
Some are reserved.
Some are secure.
Some are still learning.

Growth takes time.

  1. Understanding Emotional Expression

In Second Life, we use avatars. Emotions are transmitted through words, gestures, animations.

Inside the group:

A kiss = shared joy and closeness of spirit, not automatically sexual desire.

A hug = safety and appreciation.
Hearts = gratitude and positive energy.
Wanting attention = normal.
Feeling a bit jealous sometimes = human.

These are emotions, not contracts.
Do not over-interpret simple affection.

  1. About Jealousy and Attention

It is normal to want attention.
It is normal to want to feel special.

But remember:

The group is shared space.
No one owns the group.
No one owns another membe
r.

If you feel jealous, do not attack reflect.

Ask yourself:
Do I need reassurance?
Do I need private connection?

Do I need clearer boundaries?

Speak calmly. Do not create drama.

  1. Public vs Private Communication

Both are valid.

Want to send love to everyone? Use group chat.

Want to express something personal? Send a private message.

You do not have to choose one or the other.

Healthy communication uses both.

  1. Boundaries Matter

If someone has a partner in real life or in Second Life, respect that.

Fun, affection, dancing, and playful interaction are fine but do not blur lines.

Relaxation in the group ends when the session ends.

Respect keeps the group safe.

  1. Do Not Censor Your Joy – But Stay Aware

If you feel like sending hugs – send them.
If you feel like celebrating – celebrate.
If you constantly censor yourself out of fear, you disconnect
.

But balance freedom with awareness.
Freedom + respect = harmony.

  1. The Group as a Living Entity

A group is more than “me” or “you.”

It reacts instantly:
It can feel warm.
It can feel tense.
It can grow.
It can collapse.
There is rarely a middle ground.

If we honor the group, protect it, and act with maturity, it becomes a source of energy and inspiration.
If we compete and divide, it weakens.

Final Principle

We are individuals.
We form groups.
We come from different cultures, different homes, different lives.

But when we dance together, we share one space.

Shine without dimming someone else.
Express yourself without harming others.
Support more than you criticize.

That is how a group creates instead of destroys.
